Top 40 airwaves are heating up, as six songs enter the airplay tally.
Six star acts freshen up Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated March 12), debuting with their latest singles.Taylor Swift leads the way, as "New Romantics" soars in at No. 28. The song is the seventh radio single from 1989, the newly-minted Grammy Award-winning album of the year. It follows five No. 1s and the No. 12-peaking "Out of the Woods" (currently at No. 26).
Fifth Harmony's "Work From Home," featuring Ty Dolla $ign,
punches in at No. 30 on Pop Songs. The girl group announced the song Feb. 25, a day before premiering the audio track on the syndicated Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and issuing the single's music video. Thus, it starts on Pop Songs with less than three days of plays in the tracking week. The cut has already crowned the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 and previews the group's upcoming album 7/27, a reference to the date (in 2012) that the quintet formed on Fox's The X Factor. The set is expected May 20 and follows 5H's debut full-length, 2015's Reflection.
Gwen Stefani's "Make Me Like You" scores the Pop Songs chart's third-highest entrance, at No 31. The song has already made history, serving as the soundtrack to the first-ever live video premiere, as it arrived (via a Target tie-in) during the Grammy Awards. "Make" is from her album This Is What the Truth Feels Like, due March 18.
